About Me

Paul W. Clark, PhD
Counselling & Therapy

In 1990 I began my career as a classroom teacher.  I worked to help high school students succeed in the classroom and on the playing field and I did that for several years but by 1995 I began to focus on helping individuals and families.  Ultimately I became interested in helping people with their personal and emotional concerns that often left them feeling powerless and alone.

In 1999 I began my PhD at McGill University in Education and after I graduated in 2001 I was appointed an Executive Director in The Faculty of Education at McGill.

In 2003 I went overseas and did work in East Asia and studied local culture and values and got a lot of perspective on some very diverse cultural differences and I began to focus on helping specific people.

Now I work with adults, youth, and children on issues that include relationships, schooling, anxiety, trauma, or addiction and I often help people through times of crisis, significant life transitions, or emotional distress.

I use a number of therapies but focus primarily on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma Therapy (EMDR), and Mindful Meditation.

I am a member of The Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists and I currently live in central Mississauga with my wife and three children.
